Who doesn’t love a hot cowboy? Splash Days – a popular summer festival in Texas’ most liberal and cosmopolitan city – is a deliriously only-in-Texas surreal fantasy of cowboys and cowpokes, all partying for three days and nights. This year’s lineup of DJs befits the event’s size and scope. Don’t miss the outdoor party at Hippie Hallow on Lake Travis, including a party barge. Splash Days evokes an idyllic summer camp. Only one where every other camper happens to be a smiling, hot man. Yippie-yi-yo!

The Bad Boy Club Montreal, established in 1991 when a group of friends decided that they wanted to create a big party and invite all of their friends to join them, has got the summer Pride party for you: Twisted. Since 1994, Twisted has served as the major party portion of the city’s Pride celebration – and for good reason: it is one of BBCM’s biggest crowd pleasers. The weekend parties include a Saturday all-night multi-DJ dance, the Saturday tea dance outdoors, and the biggest event, a Sunday all-nighter, the Twisted encore. The hot Montreal boys in the Gay Village are always up for showing their tourist friends a good time – especially during Pride. Best of all, it all goes toward fighting AIDS

Black Out is the premier multicultural beach event for the LGBT community and their admirers. Established in 2003, FIBO began when two friends decided to give their friends and LGBT people of color in particular a unique beach experience. After jokingly tossing around the idea of going to Fire Island, a predominantly white gay beach community, the two friends decided “why not?” and now, nearly a decade later, FIBO has grown into one of the nation’s largest, most diverse, and friendliest thee day beach events for the LGBT community. The eye candy at FIBO is a delicious assortment of dark, milk, and white chocolates. FIBO attendees enjoy dance parties, barbeques, live entertainment, volleyball tournaments, pool parties, and an unparalleled beach experience. Each year, party promoters at Black Out raise funds for worthy non-profit service organizations. Come over to Fire Island August 10 – 12 and experience the best Black Out of your life.

Gay Pride Amsterdam is one of the best and most fun Pride celebrations in the world. With street parties, Circuit parties, and the famous Canal Parade – yes, a Pride parade on the water – Gay Pride is one of the busiest weekends of the year in Amsterdam. The first real night of Pride weekend kicks off with street parties, one of which features the hilarious Drag Queen Olympics, a dance and cruise party in Club Fuxxx, an underwear party in Club Church, and more. Then on Saturday, where most parades use trucks, Amsterdam has boats. You can join 500,000 spectators and cheer for 75 spectacularly decorated boats with hot guys and sexy gals through the Prinsengracht and Amstel river. Of course, Amsterdam Pride wouldn’t be complete without at least one mega-party. This being Amsterdam, where more is not enough, Rapido at Paradiso (every year a sellout months in advance) begins in the afternoon and doesn’t end until well into the next day. Here, you will be sure to get enough booze, boys and beats.

This year, the legendary Divers/Cité in this most beautiful of cities celebrates its 20th anniversary with the innovative style that we’ve come to expect from the city that knows what joie de vivre means. The signature series of outdoor events is scheduled in the Old Port on the Jacques-Cartier Pier. The move to a new location was a must. The event’s producers say the party simply outgrew the old location. Big name DJs and performers add to that extra special touch that has helped to make Divers/Cité a celebration of the urban diversity of Montréal – North America’s party capital. Twenty years of growth and expansion have established Divers/Cité as an internationally recognized festival. As the name implies, the crowd is straight as well as gay. Since this is Montreal, that means trés gay-friendly and ultra-hot French-Canadian men (oh, yeah, and women).

Wonderfully balmy weather, a supportive city government (the GOP mayor, who has a lesbian daughter, is a major supporter of same-sex marriage), an active club and bar scene, and, last but not least, a healthy outdoorsy all-American-attractive LGBT community.
Who doesn’t love a good drag queen? Now, imagine a ferryboat full of them closing in on your shores! That is exactly what this fourth of July tradition is all about. Legend has it that after a man in drag was denied service at a bar in the Pines in 1976, he returned with a boatload of drag queens from Cherry Grove to “invade” the neighboring community. Present day, the event has grown by leaps and gowns into a beloved tradition where residents of the Pines and a crowd from throughout Fire Island and the mainland to greet the incoming ferryboat (crammed with extravagantly costumes characters) with thunderous applause and fanfare. The Invasion is a great example of what they mean by an “only on Fire Island” event!

NYC Pride proudly introduces Hudson River Park’s Pier 57 as the new home for its Dance on the Pier and Rapture on the River events. An annual environmental review found the events’ storied home, Pier 54, to be structurally unsound and unsuitable for use. “Pier 54 has been our home for over 20 years, and I’m sure it has great stories to tell. It will be missed,” said Mo George, Dance Director. “Pier 57 will allow us to take both Rapture on the River and Dance on the Pier to the next level and create the ultimate dance experience attendees have grown accustom to seeing.”
Home to the annual Food & Wine Grand Tasting, and a number of other large events, the enclosed Pier 57 allows for NYC Pride’s events to take place regardless of weather conditions.
“We believe this will usher in a new era for these events,” said Chris Frederick, Managing Director. “The space is significantly larger, which will allow for easier access to bars, restrooms, and social spaces. It is our intention to create an entirely new experience for our attendees. Considering these two events represent more than half of our annual fundraising efforts, their continued success and appeal has become the organization’s primary focus for the year.” Rapture on the River’s new time will be 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 23 – one hour longer than 2011’s event. The Dance on the Pier will run from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. starting Sunday, June 24 – a later start and end time than in 2011. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 4 and can be purchased online at nycpride.showclix.com. Tickets can also be purchased at Village Apothecary in the West Village and Delphinium Home in Hells Kitchen.
New York City Pride

This is the big one. NYC Pride is oldest and most revered Pride celebration in the world. The city is the home of Stonewall, the event that sparked the beginning of the modern gay liberation movement, so it’s easy to see why the Pride Parade is one of the largest in the world; winding through NYC streets, the parade is a spectacle of colorful floats (complete with hot boys dancing atop them), music, community groups and more. This year, NYC Pride will bring back the VIP Rooftop Party and a cache of big parties, cocktail gatherings and more. The annual PrideFest, now in its 19th year, is a great place to look at LGBT New York in all her glory: bears, twinks, leathermen and all those muscle boys. The open-air booths offer everything from slutwear to applications to become a fireman. NYC Pride is a magical time when the city comes alive with a rainbow fervor that is contagious. The best DJs on the planet, hottest go-go dancers, and legions of tourists ready to party in one (or more!) of the city’s many gay nightspots help make NYC Pride an unforgettable celebration that you will find yourself dreaming about long after the party is over.

And this year the party is all-new! The weekend kicks off with SpLAsh, a pool party at a stunning $65 million estate in Beverly Hills with DJ Roland Belmares spinning the tunes next to some fantasy “lifeguards.” Then, get ready as “WE Party Attacks Wonderland” - producer Tom Whitman has teamed up with Masterbeat to reinvent the main event and take over Universal Studios theme park where partygoers can dance inside a giant real soundstage with gogo gods (direct from Madrid!) and then step outside to ride the rides including the brand new Transformers 3D and Mummy’s Revenge. Direct from Madrid, the infamous WE Party will feature DJ Manuel de Diego, spinning alongside DJ Ana Paula from Rio for an out-of-this-world musical jour-ney. The party has it all: a mega-club being built in a soundstage with lasers, line array sound and LED video walls, a sea of hot men as far as the eye can see stretching out across the Circuit-type event, and thrill rides right outside that are open just for you. And if you don’t want your Pride celebration to end, head over to the official Wonder-land Afterhours: Ignite at Arena with DJ Twisted Dee. Wind down your weekend with DJ Brett Henrichsen spinning a classic Tea Dance, “Pride Tea” on Sunday at Factory and Ultra Suede – just steps away from the Pride festival. For years, Angelenos have been clamoring for Pride parties that could match up to the biggest cities. Well, now they’re here, so get set for one wild and wonderful weekend.

While many of us gay boys have dreamed of a U.S. national holiday where we queens could have our day, I’m afraid, at the moment you must travel to gay-friendly Amsterdam for that experience. Amsterdam’s Queen’s Day celebration of the masses in the Netherlands has spread into a night event as well. Koninginnedag (a/k/a Queen’s Day) is Holland’s largest national holiday that observes the birthday of the Netherlands’ beloved Queen Mum who ruled from 1948 to 1980; the current queen, Queen Beatrix, traditionally celebrates her birthday on this date. Amsterdam is the perfect location to take it all in as the gay community is socially integrated here. If you’re looking for a wildly exuberant party and are happy to dress in extravagant orange, then Queen’s Day – one of the world’s biggest street parties – is your scene. In addition, on Saturday April 28th, star DJ Manny Lehman and pop superstar Alexandra Stan from Romania will be featured at Rapido Festival, then on Sunday April 29th, it’s the mind-blowing Rapido at Paradiso with international star DJ Tony Moran, Flava, and Shawenee Taylor.

Cherry has been popping since its inception back in 1996. Its sexiness even became a topic for Congressional debate, and a protest against boys without shirts daring to grace federal property (horrors!) was entered into the Congressional Record. In the spirit of rebirth and renewal (and a big “in your face” to the religious right), Cherry is going back to its roots in the magical season when the famous cherry blossoms bloom along the Mall. See our nation’s capital at its most beautiful. Cherry Weekend, entirely produced by volunteers, includes both men’s and women’s events. But whatever you do, do not miss the infamous “Moody Horror Picture Show,” the annual birthday bash thrown by one of the city’s most prominent gay physicians and noted nightlife photographer.

Alegria Xtreme, always held the Sunday after Black Party, has become party promoter Ric Sena’s second most popular event (short of Pride). Just like the name implies, this party is extreme. Extremely sexual, that is! Sena pulls out all the stops with the biggest DJs on the Circuit and hyper-muscular go-go dancers. Thousands of shirtless, hunky men dance the hours away to thumping music while a light show brightens up the night. This is Alegria. This is NYC. With great themes and a super-charged crowd, it’s no wonder this annual event has become a sought-out destination for party-goers from around the world. Alegria Xtreme is such an amazing party that you must experience.

This infamous annual rite of spring harks back to the days when nightlife was spelled N-Y-C. The party is going stronger than ever. With more than 5,000 attendees over 18 hours, it remains one of the largest dance parties in the world. Not to mention one of the most outrageous. Internationally respected for its infamous productions, it has re-tained the Saint’s reputation for cutting-edge innovation, superstar international DJs and the world’s naughtiest and nastiest performances.

The related Expo and Bazaar is a daylong exposition held on the day of the party that pulls back the leather curtain, granting visitors access to the netherworld behind the biggest and most notorious gay dance party in the world. Attendees are free to drink, dance, ogle and gawk as they meet their favorite adult film stars and power-shop for the very best in leather and fetish fashions, adult films, books, toys, erotic art, and everything else you’ll need for those after-hours when the dance party has ended but the private party has just begun.

If you have danced a balmy late-winter Miami afternoon-into-evening on a specially constructed dance floor directly fronting the Atlantic Ocean, with a superior sound system, go-go dancers, full bars and lights, you’ll understand why people keep returning year after year to the Winter Party. Sure, the promise of escape from winter to outdoor suntanning is a factor, but it’s the weeklong series of events that will keep you entertained. This includes the pool party, outside one of South Beach’s most glamorous hotels, and the recovery party, for when you need just one more dance. Nowhere else can you dance within the immediate sight and sound of the ocean with 5,500 other attendees. This fun benefits the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force, one of the most dynamic groups to wage the ongoing fight for fairness and equality.

The great party city of New Orleans continues to emerge triumphant like a phoenix from the flames. Floods, hurricanes, and oil spills simply cannot stand in the way as Fat Tuesday rages on! This notoriously raunchy and wild celebration has been a siren song for the gay community since the 1950s, when the Krewe of Yuga (or KY, naturally) formed to both satirize the straight krewe that shut them out and open the city up to legions of gay visitors. Let your tourist dollars help the city continue to regain its former glory while you “werk” your moves to collect the biggest beads from the hottest boys.

Although Carnival is celebrated in towns and villages throughout Brazil, Rio de Janeiro has long been regarded as the Carnival Capital of the World. The Rio Carnival is not only the biggest Carnival; it is also a benchmark against which every other Carnival is compared and one of the most interesting aesthetic events on the globe. It officially starts on Saturday and finishes on Fat Tuesday with the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday after which one is supposed to abstain from all bodily pleasures. Carnival, with all its excesses, celebrated as a profane event, can be considered an act of farewell to the pleasures of the flesh. Carnival culminates in the Rio Carnival Parade also known as the Samba Parade.

The long, storied history of this weekend leather event goes back to 1975 and involves a difficult cock ring that refused to release the man wearing it. That should give you some indication of the type of party that this is: one that promises a great deal of good times (even if they are a bit painful). Sponsored by the Centaur Motorcycle Club, events include their signature Leather Cocktails parties, the Mr. Mid-Atlantic Leather Contest, and the Reaction Dance closing party. Be sure to take time to check out the Leather Exhibit Hall, filled with hot gear and toys, which will be almost twice as large as previous years.

The grande dame of dance parties remains one of the crown jewels of the Circuit. This mega-series of events is the world’s oldest, largest, and most opulent, contributing 100 percent of the proceeds to South Florida’s Care Resource, a local AIDS service group. Choosing white as their theme color in 1985, the founders wanted this party not only to raise much-needed money to fight AIDS, but also to symbolize purity and elegance – not to mention how hot those beautiful muscular Miami men look tucked into tight, body-conscious dance clothes. This year’s main event, dubbed Evolution, will see thousands dressed in a sea of white as they dance until dawn on the private waterfront peninsula at South Florida’s own exciting theme-park destination, Miami Seaquarium, overlooking Biscayne Bay on Key Biscayne. Don’t miss the fireworks spectacular at 10:30 p.m. There is a whole lot more going on besides the main event. In fact, the whole town is abuzz during White Party Week with more than a dozen events in the clubs and, of course, the infamous Muscle Beach event on Sunday.

Alegria - Halloween

No one does Halloween better than Alegria. With Ric Sena’s jaw-dropping décor, purpose-built in Brazil and installed in New York, Alegria Halloween has, in years past, evoked chilling thrillers and slasher flicks, as well as a Little Shop of Horrors’ garden of surreal extraterrestrial eyes. One year, a colony of Alegria bats hovered and swooped and flashed red. Whatever the décor, the best sights will certainly be the dancers on every side of you, turned out in wildly imaginative flights of fancy. Alegria gets the hottest men on the planet, period, and this gives them the chance to dress in those fantasy outfits you’ve always hoped they’d be wearing. The result of all this voodoo has made Alegria Halloween one of the most popular on Alegria’s calendar. Be prepared to be blown away by the music and the theme, and a coven of vampiric boys waiting to suck you into their netherworld deep inside the super-spacious and comfy Best Buy Theatre in the heart of Times Square. Note this event is on SUNDAY night!

If there ever was a holiday invented for New Orleans, it would have to be Halloween. Shrouded in mist and mystery, the Big Easy is the place where strange fantasies turn into stranger reality. And there’s no better way to celebrate All Hallow’s Eve than the multi-night mega-dance event that benefits Project Lazarus, now celebrating 25 years of providing local services for people with AIDS. This is the biggest fund-raiser of the year for Project Lazarus — a fitting name for a night that raises up the spirits of the dead, as is the party’s theme “Wickedly Ever After.” Your own spirit will be dancing its ass off at parties that feature powerhouse DJs like New York’s Corey Craig, Manny Lehman and Eddie Baez. Even if you’ve don’t believe you have any energy left over after Saturday night’s main event and costume parade, force yourself out of bed for an only-in-N’Awlins experience: a floating brunch aboard a genuine riverboat. If you think you won’t be tired, you haven’t been to New Orleans, an all-day-all-night party town where no one frowns on the outrageous.
As the new tagline succinctly puts it, “Summer Perfected” — and few people would argue that Fire Island and summer go together as perfectly as sand and the ocean. This year, the idyllic gay playground is more chic and more fun than ever before, thanks to the recently refurbished Pavilion, the legendary Pines nightclub, as well as a freshened-up Blue Whale, home to Low, Middle and High Teas. There’s also the Fire Island Pines Underwear Party and the new Friday nights BierGarten around the Pool Deck — and a swarm of hot-hot-hot boys wandering the beach and loitering along the walks in little more than dental-floss swimwear.
Every gay man finally has a chance to act out on all of those fantasies he’s been harboring about what really goes on at Boy Scout camp! As you might think from the title there are drag queens involved, but Camp - 2011 takes the gay camping experience to a whole new level. Over 2000 attendees will frolic in a beautiful 200+ acre campground in lush Poconos Mountains. Top circuit DJs and drag divas will entertain the crowd at pool parties, foam parties, parties by the lake, and even in the hot tubs! There are tons of planned activities so check their website for all the details. No need to hide anything from the camp counselors, you can let it ALL hang out at this event!

These campgrounds have hosted a wide array of gay-themed events. But nothing like this! This weekend will see a few thousand attendees cavorting in the many pools, hot tubs and natural lakes, as they dance to Circuit superstar DJs. And could it be summer camp without daily volleyball tournaments? The beautiful, unspoiled Pocono Mountains are only a short drive from New York, Philadelphia, with transportation provided from there as well as Baltimore and Washington. Foam parties? Laser light shows? Camp Tamakwa in junior high was nothing like this!

Are you in the mood to shake off your winter cabin fever, but can’t decide between doing a Spring Break thing or a Mardi Gras thing? If you want both then head to beautiful and sunny (and mucho gay) Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where Club Manana and Club Papi are putting on Spring Fever Carnaval. On top of six nights of parties in Vallarta’s hottest clubs, there is a morning party on the beach, a ton of activities during the day and heavy dose of the sexy Club Papi go-go boys who give a whole new meaning to “taking it ALL off.” No Mari Gras would complete without a parade so don’t miss the Gay Carnaval Parade through Olas Altas, which is sure to be outrageous and over the top. In between all the fun you will be able to wind down on one of the gayest beaches on the planet, Playa de Los Muertos, home to the infamous “Blue Chairs.” This will be a Mardi Gras/Spring break you will long remember…if you can.

Montreal in winter definitely has its perks: French cuisine, fireplaces, warm beds—and an abundance of French-Canadian boys cooing French come-ons in your ears. Voulez-vous couchez avec moi? Mai oui! As if that weren’t enough, there’s Bad Boy Club Montreal’s mid-winter bash, RED 2011. As the ads say, “Feel your heartbeat on the dance floor”—but, knowing those French-Canadian lads, that’s probably just the start.
