SUMMARY / REVIEW:

This is it. The Big Kahuna. The Mother Ship. The Black Party. You’ve heard the rumors. The legends. The one about the adult castration onstage. The “accident” on the dance floor. The FTM sex show. The hot-wax fisting scene. This isn’t one of the most intense experiences you’ll ever have on a dance floor. It’s the most intense experience you’ll ever have in your entire life. Held at the venerable Roseland Ballroom—the biggest dance floor in all of Gotham—you’ll be dazzled, astounded and turned on by the sight of several thousand of the hottest men you never thought existed celebrating the many moods of leather in all its guises, from leather pants to jocks to … socks and boots.

Once you go upstairs and adjust your eyes to the transfixing light show emanating from the domed dance floor, you’ll feast on the thousands of fellow revelers, some doing things you won’t be telling the folks back home, and some doing things you won’t be telling anyone back home. But most people are dancing—this is, above all and before everything, a dance party that traces itself back to 1979 and the old Saint, the most fabulous and famous gay dance club of all time. Held every year around the Vernal Equinox, this hearkens even further back to Druid rituals whereby men donned animal skins and danced all night to ensure a good planting season. Even if you’re not doing any farming, you may end up planting plenty of seed at a party that stretches from early evening well into the next afternoon.
